Hi, everyone!

I’m working on a onboarding series right now, and I want to make sure the majority of our users see the product tour. So we’ve put a series that includes said product tour, where they enter as soon as they sign up, we check a couple of things, such as language, and then we trigger the product tour. Then, in case the user goes offline before receiving the product tour, we’ve set up an email to reel them back to the app. Here’s the issue, if I direct them to the tour right after clicking on a button o whatever in the email, it creates an infinite loop.

Has anyone else had a similar situation? How did you got around solving it? Should we include a second product tour for the email path?

Thank you🙏🏽

Hi Lucia, It’s Mat from the Support Engineering Team 😀

It looks as a bug to me, please reach out to us to get this sorted.

In the meantime, I would recommend using Checklist (and implement the product tour within this checklist).
In that way, your customers will be reminded to finish the tour until they are done with it.

Hi, Mat

Thank you for your answer, however, I don’t think it’s a bug, I mean it makes sense that if  block A directs to block B when not matched, then block B can’t lead back to block A, creating an infinite loop. I guess I need a block C, that buffers between block B and back to A. I was just wondering if there’s a more common kind of message or action I can place in the series as block C?

I’m not sure I’m making any sense 🥲 In any case, I’ll try including a checklist to see how it goes.

Thanks again!

Hi Lucia,

I think I know what you are talking about. I am sure there is a way to mitigate the issue of infinite loop.
If you want, my colleagues who specialise in the series will help you come up with the fix.
All you need to do is reach out to us via Messenger in your Workspace 😎

Thank you! I’ll do that.

Have a great weekend.
