Every time I click on an element in my product tour, this element leads to a new page instead of just letting me add a pointer to the button itself. Any tips to just grab the element and not have it click me through to the next page?

To confirm, do you have the "Navigate somewhere else" option enabled when editing your Product Tour? Unless that is enabled when editing, you shouldn’t see that selecting an element for your pointer steps on the page leads to a new page. You can read more about that feature for multi-page tours here.
If you do not have this enabled and are seeing this behavior, I can escalate this to the Support team to look into this for you further! 👍
