I just read this article (Install intercom with GTM) but it does not provide instructions on how to get the necessary variables for the Data Attributes to be sent to Intercom. Can anybody help me or point me to how to fill this part. Thanks in advance.

Adding Intercom using Google Tag Manager is a super easy set up process. You'll have to declare the variables yourself in Google Tag Manager. You could do this by using either a data layer or a Javascript variable. To create a variable simply open the Variables tab.
