Hey!

Our clients can't copy text or links from the messenger. We use iOS SDK. Android users are fine. Reported to support about a year ago. Any ideas, may be we missing someth? 😐

Hey @user2410 ! Oséas here from the Customer Support Specialist team 🕵️

Are you using the latest version of our iOS SDK? If not, updating it may solve the issue. You can find the change logs for our iOS SDK in this page. Hope that helps!

Your support-mates in chat say that this is intended behavior. Which is horrible by the way. Looks like you recommend SDK update with out even trying to reproduce the problem. With all my respect to Intercom it's kinda sad story 😓

Hey @user2410 ! Apologies for that, I linked you to our iOS SDK change logs because if we had launched any fix for this, it would be outlined there and your SDK would need to be updated in order to receive these fixes. I had assumed that copying text on iOS was not a limitation in the newest versions but it seems it is in fact. I’ll contact our Product Team so I can give you more context on this.

Here is the context on this limitation @user2410: On our iOS SDK we use something we call blocks, which renders images, paragraphs, headers as separate views. Even if something looks like one block of text it might be multiple separate views so you can't just copy the text the way you would normally do.

This is a limitation that our engineers are aware of but until now it remains as a feature request. I’ll make sure to pass your feedback to the team and add it to our customer’s wishlist 👍

Hey @Oseas ! Is there a way to put this feature in product request list? This something we also heard from our end users that it would be very needed feature. Also copying messages in Android does not work that well, since the app does not show any success informaation and not all end users understand that the message is being copied.
